Reminder: Windows 11 Upgrade for Campus Computers!
Dear Campus Community,
This is a reminder that the College will continue upgrading all eligible campus computers to Windows 11, the latest operating system from Microsoft. This initiative is part of our commitment to providing technology that enhances productivity and security across campus. Please note that these upgrades are required for all campus computers and essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of our network.
Why the Upgrade? Windows 11 offers:
- Improved performance and enhanced multitasking features.
- Increased security to better protect your data and devices.
- A modern, streamlined interface to improve usability and accessibility.
What You Can Expect:
- Phased Rollout: The upgrade will occur in phases over the next few months to minimize disruption.
- KACE Notification: ITS will send a KACE notification to users’ computers that are scheduled to receive the Windows 11 upgrade at the start of the update file transfer. The process takes about an hour, and you must leave your computer on.
- Automatic Upgrade: Please leave your Windows desktop computers on after 5pm for the upgrade to take place. Most computers will be upgraded automatically after hours.
- Manual Upgrade: For systems requiring manual intervention, our IT team will make an onsite visit.
