List of Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensure College compliance with all applicable federal and state rules, regulations, and code standards reflated to;
- Implement and execute programs for the prevention and control of EHS risks, including, but not limited to, injury prevention, indoor air quality, laboratory compliance, petroleum bulk storage and hazardous waste, records, and permits;
- Advise leadership and provide consultation to departments, e.g. researchers and contractors on University and College policies and requirements related to sustainability, environmental, occupational health and safety, as well as on opportunities in processes and practices that can be improved to reduce risk;
- Foster a positive culture of safety and sustainability across the organization through communication, information and training, business integration, and stakeholder engagement; and
- Support student experience and understanding of EHS/S through volunteer, work-study, and internship opportunities
