The Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) follows the below stages related to engagements—from the initial request through project closure:
- Proposal: Outlines the details of a project, including its objectives, scope, timeline, budget, and resources required for successful execution.
- Discovery & Initiation: Intake & Assignment: Prior to engagement, a 20-minute preliminary discussion occurs between the requester and either the Executive Director or their designee. This conversation aims to understand the requester’s objectives, expectations, and desired project timeframe. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to address any questions the requester may have regarding OSI services and the engagement process. This initial interaction is crucial in establishing effective communication and ensuring a shared understanding between the requester and OSI, and facilitating a more productive and streamlined engagement.
- Planning: Launch & Scope of Work Development: Project planning is conducted by the assigned Project Liaison and managed by the Director following the initial consultation with the requester or sponsor and includes project staffing, name, terms, overview, scope, tasks, estimate of duration, known deliverables, delineation of responsibilities among parties/acceptance/assumptions, cost estimate (if applicable), confidentiality statement (if needed), and client and sponsor signature.
- Execution/Engagement: The designated team member actively collaborates with the Requester and/or project team to oversee and execute the defined objectives and deliverables as specified in the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Close-out: A project or engagement is completed.
- Post-Engagement Assessment: The Director conducts any/all post-project assessment activities.
