Mandatory Employee Compliance Trainings

Under New York State law, all full-time and part-time employees (including Adjuncts and College Assistants) are required to complete their assigned mandatory compliance trainings in Brightspace every academic year. 

Required Trainings

  • ESPARC (Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Course): Required for all employees.
  • WVP (Workplace Violence Prevention Training): Required for all employees.
  • Understanding Title VI: Required for all full-time and part-time employees. This training will be launched at a later date.
  • GBVT (Gender-Based Violence Training): Required for employees who supervise at least one direct report and all HR professionals.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness Training: Required for all employees (More info here).
  • Comprehensive (COLEIG) Ethics Training: Required for all employees (not available on Brightspace, more info here)

Deadlines for 2026-2027 Academic Year

  • Recommended completion date for all employees: Monday, December 21, 2026
  • Full-Time employees by Friday, May 28, 2027
  • Part-time employees, including Adjuncts and College Assistants: All required trainings must be completed by the end of their employment period for the semester, Monday, December 21, 2026.

How to Access Your Trainings on Brightspace

To check your training requirements, simply log in to Brightspace, where you will see all courses assigned to you. 

To get started:

  1. Log in to Brightspace using your CUNYfirst credentials
  2. Go to the “Compliance” section under My Courses
