Under New York State law, all full-time and part-time employees (including Adjuncts and College Assistants) are required to complete their assigned mandatory compliance trainings in Brightspace every academic year.
Required Trainings:
- ESPARC: Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Course
- WVP: Workplace Violence Prevention Training
- Understanding Title VI: Required for all full-time employees
- GBVT: Gender-Based Violence Training (Required for employees who supervise at least one direct report)
- Cybersecurity Awareness Training (More info here)
Deadlines for 2025-2026 Academic Year:
- Full-time employees by May 30, 2026
- Part-time employees (including Adjuncts and College Assistants):
- By the end of the Fall semester, December 22, 2025 (if appointed for the Fall)
- By the end of the Spring semester, May 29, 2026 (if appointed for the Spring)
How to Access Your Trainings on Brightspace
To check your training requirements, simply log in to Brightspace, where you will see all courses assigned to you.
To get started:
- Log in to Brightspace using your CUNYfirst credentials
- Go to the “Compliance” section under My Courses
