Spring 2025
May 22, 2025 – The last day eligible FWS participants can work for Spring 2025. Eligible participants are those that are currently enrolled with available FWS funds.

Can my FWS student work more/makeup hours before the end of the term?
No. FWS participants with available FWS funds are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week.
What happens if I let my FWS student work more hours or beyond their FWS offer amount?
Payment for any excess hours worked will be the responsibility of the job site.
Note: on- campus job sites will be required to remunerate the student from their departmental/office budget.

My Student has some of their FWS offer that won’t get earned before the end of the academic year, can they roll it over for next summer and Fall?
No. Unearned FWS funds from Spring 2025 do not carryover to the summer or any other period of time. You cannot use a current FWS offer to hire a student for next academic year.
Which students can I rehire?
FWS offers for the upcoming academic year are typically posted in March for students to view on their CUNYfirst account. Your student must have an accepted FWS offer in order to be considered FWS positions for the coming summer and/or fall. To be hired they must also complete the placement form process, meet the enrollment requirements, and general federal student financial aid eligibility criteria.
Speak with any student you wish to rehire to confirm if they have an accepted FWS offer for the coming year. In all cases refer students to the FWS Student Process Guide for how to be considered for FWS and for those that have an offer how to accept and initiate the placement process. Those that do not have an offer can submit an appeal form for consideration.

When can I rehire my student for next academic year?
