Finding the correct problem type

Carpentry

For issues related to building structures and woodwork, including repairs to furniture, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures.

  • Cabinets: For issues related to the repair, installation, or maintenance of cabinets, including hinges, handles, and shelving. 
  • Carpet: For carpet-related concerns, such as installation, repairs, stretching, and removal of old carpet. 
  • Ceiling: For general ceiling issues, including structural repairs, leaks, and cosmetic damage. 
  • Ceiling Tile: For specific problems with ceiling tiles, such as replacement, repair, or installation of new tiles. 
  • Demolition: For requests involving the demolition of structures or fixtures, including walls, partitions, and old installations. 
  • Graffiti: For the removal or covering of graffiti on walls, doors, or other surfaces. 
  • Masonry: For issues related to brickwork, stonework, and concrete, including repairs, installations, and maintenance. 
  • Wall Repair: For repairs to walls, including patching holes, fixing cracks, and addressing other structural or cosmetic damage. 

Custodial

For cleaning and janitorial services, including spills, restroom supplies, trash removal, and general cleanliness of facilities.

  • Data Line: For problems with data lines, such as internet connectivity issues, wiring problems, or installation of new data lines. 
  • Disconnect: For requests to disconnect electrical equipment or systems, including safe disconnection for repairs or decommissioning. 
  • Install: For installation of new electrical systems or equipment, including lighting, outlets, switches, and wiring. 
  • Outage: For reporting electrical outages or power disruptions affecting specific areas or entire buildings. 
  • Outlet: For issues with electrical outlets, including malfunctioning outlets, installations, repairs, or replacements.

Elevator

For any problems with elevators, such as malfunctions, entrapments, or maintenance needs.

  • Lights: For issues related to elevator lighting, including burnt-out bulbs, flickering lights, or other illumination problems inside the elevator. 
  • Out of Service: For reporting elevators that are non-operational or experiencing major malfunctions requiring immediate attention. 
  • Service: For routine maintenance, inspections, or minor repairs to keep the elevator functioning smoothly and safely. 

Facility

For general facility-related issues not covered by other categories, such as building infrastructure, space management, or utility services. 

  • Assemble or Disassemble: For requests to put together or take apart furniture, equipment, or other items. 
  • Clocks: For issues related to clocks, including installations, repairs, battery replacements, or time adjustments. 
  • Delivery: For requests involving the delivery of items, such as supplies, equipment, or furniture, to specific locations on campus. 
  • E Waste: For disposal or recycling of electronic waste, including computers, monitors, printers, and other electronic devices. 
  • Furniture: For issues or requests related to furniture, including repairs, relocations, installations, or adjustments. 
  • Hang or Install: For hanging or installing items such as pictures, whiteboards, shelves, or other wall-mounted fixtures. 
  • Planning: For facility planning services, including space management, layout design, and project coordination. 
  • Repair or Rebuild: For general repairs or rebuilding tasks within the facility, excluding those covered by more specific categories. 
  • Set Up or Breakdown: For setting up or breaking down spaces for events, meetings, or activities, including arranging furniture and equipment. 
  • Shred Confidential: For secure shredding and disposal of confidential documents and sensitive materials. 
  • Supplies: For requests related to obtaining, restocking, or distributing supplies needed for facility operations or events. 

HVAC

For heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system issues, including temperature regulation, air flow, and system malfunctions.

  • Air Quality: For concerns related to indoor air quality, including issues with filtration, humidity, and general air cleanliness. 
  • Gas Line: For problems with gas lines connected to HVAC systems, including leaks, malfunctions, or installations. 
  • No Power: For HVAC units that have lost power or are not receiving electrical supply, resulting in a lack of operation. 
  • Noisy (Vents, AC): For complaints about unusual or excessive noise coming from vents, air conditioning units, or other HVAC components. 
  • Odor: For issues related to unpleasant or unusual odors emanating from HVAC systems, indicating potential problems with filters, ducts, or system components. 
  • Too Cold: For situations where the temperature is too cold, including malfunctioning thermostats, overactive cooling systems, or drafts.

Keys and Locks

  • Athletics: For maintenance needs specific to athletic facilities or equipment, including fields, courts, and related amenities. 
  • Auto: For vehicle maintenance and repairs, including fleet vehicles, golf carts, and other campus transportation. 
  • Card Reader: For maintenance or repairs to card reader access systems, including troubleshooting, replacements, and upgrades. 
  • Cement: For issues related to cement surfaces, including repairs, patching, and concrete work. 
  • Flooring: For maintenance and repairs to various types of flooring surfaces, including tile, carpet, hardwood, and linoleum. 
  • Grounds Keeping: For general maintenance of outdoor spaces, including landscaping, mowing, pruning, and weed control. 
  • Hazardous Material: For handling and disposal of hazardous materials, including spills, leaks, and proper disposal procedures.

  • Turnstile: For maintenance and repairs to turnstiles or access control barriers, including cleaning, lubrication, or fixing mechanical malfunctions. 

Move

For requests to move personnel, equipment, or furniture from one space to another within the campus. 

  • Furniture: For requests to move furniture items from one location to another within the campus. 
  • Object: For requests to move objects or equipment, other than furniture, from one location to another within the campus. 
  • Personal: For requests to assist with relocating personal belongings or items belonging to individuals, such as office moves or relocations. 

Paint

For painting needs, including touch-ups, full room painting, or addressing graffiti. 

  • Full: For requests for full-scale painting jobs, including painting entire rooms, walls, or other large surfaces. 
  • Touchup: For requests for touch-up painting, including covering small areas of damage, scratches, or imperfections on painted surfaces. 

Pest Control

For problems with pests, such as insects, rodents, or other unwanted animals in buildings or surrounding areas. 

  • Insects: For issues related to insect infestations, including ants, cockroaches, spiders, bedbugs, or other common pests. 
  • Rodents: For problems with rodent infestations, including mice, rats, or other small mammals that may be present in buildings or surrounding areas. 

Plumbing

For plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, pipe repairs, and fixture installations. 

  • Ballast: For issues related to ballast systems, which regulate the electrical current to fluorescent lights. 
  • Bottle Filling Stations: For maintenance or repair needs related to bottle filling stations, including water flow issues, leaks, or filter replacements. 
  • Discolored Water: For concerns about the coloration of water, indicating potential issues with water quality or sediment in the plumbing system. 
  • Drains: For problems with drains, including clogs, backups, or slow drainage in sinks, showers, or floor drains. 
  • Drinking Fountain: For issues related to drinking fountains, such as leaks, temperature control, or water pressure problems.

RES

For event-related requests, including setup, breakdown, and other support for campus events and activities. 

  • RES. Cleanup: For requests to clean up after an event, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and restoring the area to its original condition. 
  • RES. Setup: For requests to set up for an event, including arranging furniture, equipment, and decorations as needed for the event. 
  • RES. Support: For additional support during an event, including technical assistance, troubleshooting, and on-site help to ensure the event runs smoothly. 

Roof

For issues with the roof, including leaks, damage, and general maintenance. 

  • Leak: For reporting roof leaks, including water infiltration, dripping, or moisture issues coming from the roof. 
  • Repair: For general roof repair needs, including fixing damaged shingles, sealing cracks, or addressing structural issues. 

Safety EQ

For problems with security equipment, including cameras, access control systems, and alarms. 

  • AED: For issues related to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), including battery replacement, malfunctioning units, or restocking pads and accessories. 
  • Mirrors: For maintenance or repair of safety mirrors, including installation, adjustment, or replacement of mirrors used for safety and security purposes. 

Security EQ

For problems with security equipment, including cameras, access control systems, and alarms. 

  • Alarm: For issues related to security alarm systems, including malfunctions, false alarms, or installation and maintenance of alarm components. 
  • Camera: For problems with security cameras, including malfunctions, positioning adjustments, or installation of new cameras. 
  • CCTV: For issues with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, including video recording problems, playback issues, or system maintenance. 
  • ID System: For maintenance or repair of identification systems, including ID card printers, scanners, and software used for managing access control. 
  • Key System: For issues related to electronic or mechanical key systems, including key distribution, system programming, and maintenance.

Signage

For requests related to signs, including installation, repair, or replacement of directional or informational signs. 

  • Repair: For requests to repair existing signs, including fixing damaged signs, repainting, or replacing parts of the sign. 
  • Request: For requests to create and install new signs, including directional signs, informational signs, and nameplates. 

Whiteboard

For issues with whiteboards, such as installation, repair, or maintenance. 

  • Clean: For requests to clean whiteboards, including removing marker stains, residue, or general cleaning to maintain usability. 
  • Install: For requests to install new whiteboards, including mounting them on walls in classrooms, offices, or other locations. 
  • Remove: For requests to remove existing whiteboards, including dismounting them from walls and disposing of or relocating them. 

Windows

For window-related issues, including broken glass, frame repairs, and window treatments. 

  • Glass: For issues related to window glass, including cracks, breaks, or fogging that requires repair or replacement. 
  • Hardware: For problems with window hardware, such as handles, locks, hinges, or mechanisms that require repair or replacement. 
  • Leak: For reporting leaks around windows, including water infiltration, drafts, or moisture issues that need sealing or repair.
