Requesting retiree email access
Retiring college faculty and staff can elect to receive a “retiree” email account at the time of retirement. You must communicate your intent to the Office of Human Resources during the exit process. ITS cannot create your retiree email account.
What is my retiree email address?
After completing your email request with HR:
- Retiring teaching faculty will retain their
@brooklyn.cuny.eduemail address. - Retiring staff will receive a new
@ret.brooklyn.cuny.eduemail address.

When you retire, your CUNY Microsoft 365 account is downgraded to an email-only license. See How to access your email for more details.
You will need to sign in to your email account at least once every 12 months. Inactive accounts are deleted.
