What is the SUPER campaign about?

SUPER stands for Single-Use Plastics Elimination and Reduction, a Brooklyn College campaign with the long-term goal of eliminating and reducing the use of single-use plastics on campus. Single-Use Plastics are items traditionally made from petroleum byproducts which are intended to be used once and then thrown away. SUPER is a part of a CUNY-wide initiative put forward by the CUNY Board of Trustees’ resolution to eliminate the use of single-use plastics, with a focus on plastic bags, water bottles, straws, drink lids and cutlery.
