• Attention: East Quad – Bedford Entrance Opening

    The East Quad Bedford Entrance is scheduled to reopen on August 28, in time for the first day of classes. While the entrance and access to Boylan and Ingersoll Halls will be available, the interior of the Quad will remain closed as work continues.

  • Reminder: Paving of Boylan Hall well parking lot

    The Boylan Hall well parking lot will be closed for repair and paving from Tuesday, August 18, through Thursday, August 20. Please use alternate routes around campus and the main parking lot as needed. Signage will direct pedestrians and staff, and exit doors to the lot will be blocked for safety during the work.

  • Postponement: Campus Wide Roof gutters & Leaders Replacement Project

    The Campus-Wide Roof Gutters & Leaders Replacement project has been postponed to a later date to allow ongoing work in the East Quad and Boylan Well to be completed without interruption. The project will also require new permits before work can begin.

  • Lily Pond Update: Koi and Turtles Safe During Campus Work

    As work continues around Brooklyn College’s iconic Lily Pond, the koi and turtles remain safe, healthy, and carefully cared for throughout the project. The college community will be welcomed back to enjoy this treasured campus landmark once the work is complete.

  • Campus-wide Tree Removal/Pruning

    As part of regular maintenance and preparations for the Fall semester, an external vendor will be on campus to remove and prune trees across campus. The work is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23.

  • Library Closing Early Today, August 5

    The Brooklyn College Library will close today at 4:45 p.m., earlier than its regular 7:45 p.m. closing time, due to infrastructure issues. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

  • East Quad Project Update: Progress and What to Expect Beginning June 1

    Construction on the East Quad continues on schedule, with a new phase beginning June 1, 2026, that will temporarily change pedestrian access routes in the area. Community members are encouraged to review updated entry points and pathways as Brooklyn College advances improvements to create a more accessible and student-centered campus space.

  • East Quad Project: Concrete chopping

    A water shutdown is in effect today, 02/10/2026, for Roosevelt Extension due to a domestic hot water pipe break causing an active roadway leak. Facilities Operations is conducting time sensitive repairs to prevent further damage, and updates on service restoration will be shared as they become available.
