How do I setup my CUNY Login account for MFA using Microsoft Authenticator?

1. Open CUNY MFA Self-Service (https://ssologin.cuny.edu/oaa/rui)
2. Sign in using your CUNY Login username and password, then click Log in.
   (allow location sharing, if prompted)
3. Click OK to continue.
4. The Oracle Identity Management page is displayed asking you to grant access to continue. Click Allow to continue.

5. Click Manage in the My Authentication Factors tile.

6. Click on Add Authentication Factor to display the list of authentication factor methods.

7. Choose Mobile Authenticator – TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password).

8. In the Friendly Name field, enter an informative name like CUNY Login MFA so you can easily distinguish CUNY Login MFA from any other accounts in Microsoft Authenticator (e.g. CUNY Microsoft 365 MFA).

9. Open Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device and tap Verified IDs at the bottom of the page or the circular button above it.

10. Tap Scan a QR code

11. Use the camera window on the Scan QR Code page to capture the QR code displayed on the screen. This sets up a new MFA account in Microsoft Authenticator for CUNY Login MFA.

12. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile phone to display the one-time password code. (Be sure to use the CUNY Login MFA account you just setup.)

13. On the CUNY Login Advanced Authentication – Setup Mobile Authenticator page on the computer, click Verify Now.

14. Enter the 6-digit Verification Code displayed from your Microsoft Authenticator app in the space provided and click Verify and Save.

15. The My Authentication Factors page displays showing the Mobile Authenticator – TOTP MFA account just added.

You can now use your Microsoft Authenticator app for CUNY Login MFA.
