Guidance on Cold Weather and Heating Issues

Dear Campus Community,

Due to the falling temperatures outside and lack of adequate heating in some buildings and areas on campus, it is recommended that staff and faculty work remotely if conditions inside their office and classroom are unsuitable.

Facilities staff has been continuously attempting to take corrective measures but some of the repairs need emergency parts and equipment being procured and installed by outside service vendors as well as capital project renovations. If needed, please work with your supervisor and department to work remotely until repairs are completed and conditions improve.

In addition, to prevent damage to piping and ensure the safety of our campus facilities, please close all windows and doors in offices, labs, storage areas, and any unoccupied spaces assigned to your department.
