If you’re new to Brooklyn College, here are a few things you should do to ensure you have access to the important tools and systems needed for your job:
- Inform ITS whether you prefer a Windows or Mac computer and any special software requests. Office computers come standard with the Microsoft Office suite and Outlook for email. Learn more about requesting hardware and devices.
- Claim your CUNYfirst account.
- Access your email account Microsoft 365.
- Create your BC WebCentral account.
- Review the 3 Accounts You Need to Know guide to learn which accounts are used to access various CUNY and Brooklyn College tools and services.
- Configure your mobile devices for BC Wi-Fi and your Brooklyn College e-mail.
- Set up your office voice mail.
- If you’re a faculty member, request smart classroom technology training or review the training guide.
- If you’re a faculty member, enter your Faculty Profile and your conference hours in the BC WebCentral Portal.
- If you’re a faculty member, familiarize yourself with Blackboard — CUNY’s online course management platform. All courses automatically receive a Blackboard course shell.
- Visit www.bc-status.info and register your cell phone to receive IT systems status alerts.
