Rollout and Timeline

Highlighted Changes
Grade Changes
Below are the key differences between the old and new WN Reversal processes.
Process | BC Portal (OLD) | CUNYfirst (NEW) |
---|---|---|
Submission | Requests are submitted only by the department chair or designee | Requests are submitted by the faculty teaching the course (must be assigned as faculty with grading access in the course schedule) Requests may be submitted on behalf of the faculty by the chair or designee |
Form Usage | Two, distinct forms are used to manage the deadlines for each request type: – Non-INC Grade Changes (available up to one year after grade is initially posted) – INC Grade Change form (available up to the next fall/spring semester, respectively) | One grade change form to be used with respective due dates pre-configured on the back end |
Timeline to submit requests | Requests can be submitted 2-3 days after grades are posted (day after grade roster due date) | Requests can be submitted immediately after grades are posted |
Editing/Modification of Requests | Requests may not be edited after submission | Requests may be edited by the requestor (faculty) prior to approval Requests may be sent back to the requestor (faculty) for edits, if appropriate |
Workflow | Requests are sent immediately to the Registrar for processing | Requests are sent to Chairs (or designees) to approve, then sent to the Registrar for processing |
Timeline to process requests | Requests are processed manually, within 5-7 business days after submission | Processing of grade changes are automated, and can be processed within 1-2 business days |
