WebCentral was officially retired at the end of the Winter 2025 intersession. It was replaced by BC Knowledge (this site), a modern platform designed to better meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. All commonly used public and restricted web applications, forms, and resources from WebCentral are available in BC Knowledge. You can quickly access all applications from the portal page.
What about my WebCentral ID?
WebCentral IDs are not going away. You will continue using your WebCentral ID to access local Brooklyn College web applications and services.

Why was WebCentral retired?
WebCentral faced several challenges that made it difficult to maintain and less effective for today’s needs:
- Outdated Infrastructure: The system could no longer keep up with modern demands for content management, accessibility, and security. It was very complex to update content in WebCentral.
- Poor Mobile Accessibility: WebCentral pages were not responsive on mobile devices, requiring zooming to view content and access links.
- Limited Search: It was difficult to find and discover content on WebCentral. Instructions typically required long navigation trails.
- Difficult to Bookmark and Share: It wasn’t possible to bookmark or share links directly to content inside WebCentral.
What are the benefits of the BC Knowledge platform?
BC Knowledge is mobile-friendly, easy to search, and everything can be bookmarked and shared for easy reference. All commonly used web applications, forms, and resources from WebCentral are available in BC Knowledge. Plus, you’ll find many new helpful articles and guides as BC Knowledge grows.
I like all my links on one page
If you prefer a one-stop portal-like experience like WebCentral, there’s a convenient Employee Portal page with links to the most frequently accessed applications and information in one page that you can bookmark.
What about students?
Students have a dedicated BC Knowledge site at students.brooklyn.edu. There’s also a student portal view at students.brooklyn.edu/portal. Maintaining student information separate from employees makes finding relevant information easier for both audiences.
