You can use Microsoft Stream, part of Microsoft 365, to record, upload, and stream training and informational videos to CUNY employees (CUNY Login is required). Since Stream is integrated with Microsoft 365, you can share and manage video just as you would any other file.
How is Stream different from Camtasia?
Stream is a much simpler, web-based tool. Camtasia is still the recommended option at CUNY for creating comprehensive training videos that require editing, titles, and effects. Learn more about Camtasia.
Here are a few notes about Stream:
- Recordings can be made directly from the browser (no software installation required)
- No additional licenses required
- Video hosting and streaming are included.
- Includes basic effects and tools for backgrounds, screen recording, background music, chapters, noise suppression, and analytics.
- Video access in Stream requires CUNY Login (not public like YouTube)
- Recording from the browser is limited to 15 minutes per recording — larger videos can still be uploaded directly.
